MIFFLINBURG — June L. Spangler, 86, of 50 E. Market St., entered into rest at 1:56 p.m. Sunday, March 3, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born June 27, 1926, in New Berlin, a daughter of the late Spencer M. and Fannie (Edelman) Walker. On May 25, 1946, in the United Church of Christ, New Berlin, she married Ralph E. Wagner, who preceded her in death on July 9, 1990. On March 22, 1992, she married Eugene E. Spangler who survives.
June was a 1944 graduate of Lewisburg High School.
She was employed at Gwyn’s Pharmacy, Mifflinburg, as a technician for eight years.
She was an active member of the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Millmont, where she assisted with church meals, a member of the Civic Club and Athenaeum Club.
June enjoyed doing needlepoint, crocheting, and playing cards.
Surviving in addition to her husband, are one son, David L. Wagner, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; two grandchildren, Jessica Wagner, of Dover, N.H., and Daniel Wagner, of Barrington, N.H.; three great-grandchildren, Daisy, Michael, and Gabriella Wagner, of Barrington; three stepsons and two stepdaughters-in-law, Glenn and Patricia Spangler, Lee and Kathy Spangler, and Barry Spangler, all of Mifflinburg; six stepgranddaughters, Lindsay Spangler, of Champagne, Ill., Alicia Spangler, of Indiana, Pa., Valerie Fry, of Winfield, Sheila Clark, of Lewisburg, Penny Neidig, of Mifflinburg, and Ginger Moyer, of Oley; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Spencer Walker, of Levittown; and two sisters, Kate Stoudt, of Watsontown, and Suzanne Meachum, of New Port Richey, Fla.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Walker; and one sister, Nancy Walker.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of June will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ’s United Lutheran Church, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, with the Rev. John Yost, officiating. Family and friends are invited to join in a light meal and time of fellowship in the church fellowship hall immediately following the memorial service.
Memorial gifts in June’s memory may be made to the Christ’s United Lutheran Church, Parking Lot Fund, 13765 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, PA 17845.
