Kenneth R. Shaffer, 74, Millersburg

The Daily Item

MILLERSBURG — Kenneth R. Shaffer, 74, of 110 Lincoln Lane, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, March 1, 2013.

He was born on Nov. 21, 1938, in Pottsville, a son of the late Russell and Sara (Trutt) Shaffer. He was married for 48 years to the former Janet Leitzel, of Millersburg.

Ken was a graduate of Mahanoy Joint High School class of 1956

He served in the 3rd Armored Div. of the US Army stationed in Germany, and was a member of the veterans association.

Ken was a retired glass processor with PPG Industries Inc., of Carlisle.

He was a member of David’s Community Bible Church and the American Legion Post 326.

Ken was an avid Eagles and Phillies fan.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are one daughter, Sheri Shaffer, of Lemoyne, and one sister, Patricia Gravish, of Iselin, N.J.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at David’s Community Bible Church, Killinger, followed by the funeral at 10:30.

Burial to follow in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.

Donations may be made to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 800 Corporate Circle, Ste. 100, Harrisburg, PA or to his church at 1072 Rt. 25, Millersburg, PA 17061.
