Eleanor J. Buck, 88, New Columbia

NEW COLUMBIA — Eleanor J. Buck, 88, of Joe Road, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at her home.

She was born Feb. 9, 1925, in Lewisburg, a daughter of the late Stewart and Helen (Kennedy) Bennage. She was married to Jack M. Buck for more than 59 years before his death on Oct. 29, 2005.

Eleanor was a 1944 graduate of Milton High School.

She had worked for American Home Foods and Philco in earlier years.

Eleanor enjoyed gardening and helping on the farm.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, James M. and Terry J. Buck, of New Columbia, and William H. and Linda Trutt, of South Williamsport; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Glen, Fred and Bob Bennage.

Friends and relatives will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, where the funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Jerry Caswell officiating.

Burial will be in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy.
