LEWISBURG — Edith P. Asherman, 90, of Lewisburg, passed away, Thursday, March 21, 2013, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
She was born July 13, 1922, in New York City, N.Y., a daughter of the late Rudolph J. and Helen Marie (Tvrdy) Perchal. On July 15, 1944, she married George Asherman, who preceded her in death on Sept. 11, 1989. Together they celebrated 45 years of marriage.
Edith was a graduate of Hunter College High School. She earned her bachelor of science degree from Hunter College and her masters of science degree from New York University.
Edith worked as a teacher of physics and a research physicist.
Surviving are one daughter, Laura Asherman Payne, of London; and two grandsons, Albert Payne, of Lewisburg and Edward Payne, of New York City.
She was predeceased by one son, Russell Asherman.
As per Edith’s wishes, there will be no services. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family is being assisted by Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, S. Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg.
