SUNBURY — Keith A. Bordner, 53, of 1005 Penn St., died in his home on Tuesday, March 12, 2013.
He was born Jan. 28, 1960, in Sunbury, the son of Galen E. Bordner, of Shamokin Dam, and the late Marcella J. (Wagner) Bordner. On Oct. 24, 1981, he married the former Debora M. Rogers, who survives.
Keith attended SUN Area Vocational-Technical School in the machine shop.
He was employed by the Sunbury Textile Mill, working as a machine shop operator.
He was a life member of East End Hose Company, Sunbury.
Keith loved his job, motorcycles, hunting, fishing, family gatherings, his dog, shopping and antique malls. After becoming disabled, he lost his zest for life and his work, which he just loved. His job was his life.
In addition to his wife and his father, he is survived by one son, Jesse G. Bordner and his girlfriend, Alyssa Strawser, of Sunbury; and two sisters, Donna J. Ackerman, of Binghamton, N.Y., and Kathy J. Garrison and fiance Richard Poeth, of Sunbury; Galen’s companion, Bette Bodmer of Shamokin Dam; father and mother-in-law, J. Ernest and Elizabeth Rogers of Sunbury; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Marianne and Robert Worth of Northumberland; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Pamela and James Rodkey of Sunbury; four nieces, Brittany Garrison, Courtney Garrison, Kelsey Ackerman, and Angelina Rodkey; and two nephews, Drew Rodkey and Kyle Snyder-Rodkey.
Relatives and friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:50 a.m. today at Otterbein United Methodist Church, Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 11 with Pastor Mark Gittens officiating. A luncheon will follow at Hummel’s Wharf Fire Company.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Keith’s memory may be made to Higher Hope Ministries, 604 Market St., Sunbury, PA 17801; Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Road, Sunbury; or Rheumatoid Arthritis Research, 1330 W. Peachtree St., Wuite 100, Atlanta, GA 30309.
