MILTON — Franklin J. Snyder, 88, of Montour Street, passed away on Monday, March 11, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
He was born March 31, 1924, in Milton, the son of the late Veris and Ella (Caul) Snyder. He was married to the former Dorothy R. Eberhart for 61 years before her death on Dec. 22, 2008.
Franklin was a 1942 graduate of Milton High School and attended Williamsport Area Community College and Pennsylvania State University. He served in the Navy during World War II.
He worked for ACF in Milton for 44 years as a quality inspector and manager of Quality Insurance.
He was a member of First Baptist Church, Milton, for more than 70 years and was a member of American Legion Post 71, Milton.
Franklin enjoyed traveling and camping. He was an avid Penn State football fan. He had coached Little League baseball and enjoyed attending his son’s and grandson’s baseball games.
He is survived by one son, Franklin Snyder Jr., of Northumberland; two grandchildren, Jessica Snyder and Bryan Snyder; and one great-grandson, Talan Krepps.
Following Franklin’s wishes, a private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The family is being assisted by the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton.
