MILTON — Janet M. Stahl, 62, of 1040 Marshall St., passed away Sunday, Feb. 17, 2013, at her home following a courageous battle with lung, bone and breast cancer.
She was born Sept. 7, 1950, in Plattsburgh, N.Y., a daughter of the late Melvin Sr. and Ethelyn (Wylie) Bennett. On Oct. 2, 1999, she married John Stahl, who survives. They celebrated 13 years of marriage.
Janet was a high school graduate of Beekmantown Central School, N.Y. She continued her education. graduating in 1970 with a degree in cosmetology from the Board of Cooperative Education School, N.Y.
Janet worked for many years as the head dry cleaner at the former Vogel’s Cleaners, Milton.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Janet also enjoyed helping other children and donating to Toys for Tots as much as she could. She was an avid bingo player and an excellent baker.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are two sons, Paul and Tom Epley, both of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Carrie and Brent Hamm, of Montoursville; two grandchildren, Evan and Emily Hamm, both of Montoursville; seven brothers and sisters and their spouses, Melvin Jr. and Carol Bennett, of Las Vegas, Nev., Guy and Cathy Bennett, of Jersey Shore, Warren J. and Kathy Bennett, of Plattsburgh, N.Y., Helen and Robert Bodnar, of The Villages, Fla., Lynne and James Lowe, of Williamsport, twin sister Janice and Thomas Butler, of Beekmantown, N.Y., and Gail and Donald Soldato, of Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Our Lady of Lourdes, 800 Mulberry St., Montoursville, with the Rev. John Manno officiating.
The family will provide the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Toys for Tots, online at www.toysfortots.org/donate/.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, Watsontown.
