SUNBURY — Emma V. “Snoot” “Gauger” Osman, 89, of Sunbury, went to be with the Lord and her husband, Edward, on Sunday, Feb. 10, 2013.
Emma was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Sunbury, a daughter of the late Elizabeth Benner Barni. She was married to Edward R. Osman who preceded her in death on Jan. 23, 2001.
She was a 1943 graduate of Sunbury High School and was a life long member of Grace Lutheran Church, Sunbury.
Emma had her own code language for her family and friends, using letters and initials which was like the kids texting language of today. She loved to dine out, dance, and attend all her high school class functions. Mostly she enjoyed following her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s activities.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Rebecca E. Myers, of Harrisburg, Roberta L. “Bobbi” and Darvin Feger, of Sunbury, and Rosanne L. and Daniel Weber, of Shamokin Dam; grandchildren, Lisa McGarrigle, Wesley Myers, Jenny Alexander, Kristi Marlow, Angie Lawver, Brandon Snyder and Adam Snyder; great-grandchildren, Johnny and Adam Myers, Elizabeth, Emily, Elaina and Justin McGarrigle, Kyle, Noah and Jayden Alexander, Berlyn, Camryn, Isabella and Edward Marlow, Emma and Madelyn Lawver, and Benjamin and Avery Snyder.
She was raised with all her aunts and uncles, who preceded her.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, Inc., 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury. A funeral service will be celebrated at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church, 120 Spruce St., Sunbury.
Interment will follow in Northumberland Memorial Park Cemetery, Stonington.
