DANVILLE — Paul W. Shultz, 85, formerly of Washingtonville Road, passed away Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He had been residing at Kramm Healthcare Center, Milton for the past three years.
He was born June 18m 1927, in Madison Township, Columbia County, a son of the late Joseph and Adda (Deihl) Shultz. He was married to the former Nancy J. Fisher for 40 years until her death Aug. 23, 2000.
Paul graduated from Millville High School and earned his Keystone Degree in F.F.A.
He was farmer all his life and a partner with Shultz Brothers Farms, a family owned dairy farm in Columbia County.
He was a past-president and long-time member of the Soil Conservation Board of Columbia County, and a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Strawberry Ridge where he had served on their church board many times.
Paul loved visiting with people and earlier in life enjoyed square dancing, where he met his wife.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Mark E. and Kristin R. Shultz, of Danville; one grandson, Jeffery W. Shultz, of Danville; one brother and sister-in-law, Clark and Emily Shultz, of Bloomsburg; and two sisters and one brother-in-law, Helen Fay Hilkert, of Danville and Isabel and Robert Moyer, of Penns Creek.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leo Shultz in 2001.
Friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday with Pastor Shawn McNett officiating.
Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery, New Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Paul’s memory be made to the memorial fund at Trinity United Church of Christ, 1 W. Diehl Road, Danville, PA 17821.
