LEWISBURG — Florence M. White, 82, of 62 North Bull Run Crossing, passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 1, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
A native of Sunbury, she was born Feb. 8, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Katherine (Hornberger) Baskin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy White Sr., in 1989.
She attended Sunbury schools.
Florence was a homemaker and served in many different positions in the food industry. During World War II, she worked for Westinghouse.
She was a member of Christ’s Lutheran Church, enjoyed religious services at RiverWoods, enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, collecting cookbooks, attending yard sales, doing craftgs, singing, and playing bingo and card games. She would always do for others before herself, but the love of her life were her children and grandchildren.
Surviving are four children and their spouses, Suzanne and Jesse Starr, of Mifflinburg, Charlene J. and Richard Good Sr., of Northumberland, Charles L. Jr. and Crystal White, of Middleburg, and Lorelei K. White, of Lewisburg; 15 grandchildren, Desra, Jessie, Richard II, Jason, Jeremy, Richanna, Brandy, Tiffany, Casey, Shelby, Anthony, Bobbi, Brittany, Chaz, and Chelsea; 13 great-grandchildren; one niece, Marie Geiswite; and longtime companion, Ernest H. Keister Jr.
She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Brosius.
Friends and relatives will be received from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by the funeral at 1 with Pastor Titus Hostetler officiating.
Burial will follow in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
A memorial meal to celebrate the life of Florence will be served immediately following the burial at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ridge Road, Northumberland.
The family will provide flowers, and asks that donations in memory of Florence be made to the American Lung Association, 3001 Gettsyburg Road, Camp Hill, PA 17011.
