Luella Stuck Fogle, 92, McAlisterville

McALISTERVILLE — Luella (Snyder) Stuck Fogle, 92, of McAlisterville, formerly of Richfield, peacefully fell asleep in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at the Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

She was born Oct. 21, 1920, in Monroe Township, Juniata County, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence (Ferster) Snyder. On Jan. 5, 1952, she married Harry N. Stuck who preceded her on Jan. 25, 1956. On Oct.20, 1972, she married Adam J. “Boop” Fogle who preceded her on March 8, 2006.

Luella attended Crossroads grammar schoolhouse.

She was a member of the Richfield United Church of Christ since 1935, and was former president, secretary and treasurer of the Women’s Guild. She was also a former member of the Richfield Women’s Club.

Luella was an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, and designed two of the quilts for Richfield Dutch Days. Luella cherished her church family, friends, and her family, especially her grandchildren.

She is survived by one daughter, Beverly Stuck Troutman and husband, Donald “Chop,” of McAlisterville; three stepdaughters, Susan “Sue” (Fogle) Houtz and husband, Marvin, of Middleburg, Linda (Stuck) Shaffer and husband, Norman “Butch,” of Richfield, and Shirley (Stuck) Willow and husband, Palmer “Pete,” of Richfield; one stepson, Jim Fogle and wife, Jean, of McAlisterville; six grandchildren and their spouses, Bradley Willow, Kimberly and Randy Swartz, Adrian and Karen Fogle, Jeremy and Ashley Houtz, Allison Troutman-Miron and Nick Miron, and Alexis Troutman; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Gale Snyder and Wade and Eleanor Snyder, all of Richfield; one sister-in-law, Arlene Snyder, of Selinsgrove; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by one grandson, Kim Willow; two sisters, Charlotte Hilbish and Doris Leitzel; and one brother, Richard Snyder.

Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a celebration of life service at 11, in the Richfield United Church of Christ, Church Street, Richfield, with Pastor Tammy Gessner officiating and the Rev. J. Arthur Mott and Pastor Steve Osenga, assisting.

Burial will be made in the Richfield Union Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in loving memory of Luella to her church, Richfield U.C.C., P.O. Box 17, 44 Church St., Richfield, PA 17086.

The George P. Garman Funeral Homes, Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
