SHIREMANSTOWN — Mary V. Galinskie, beloved aunt, 97, of Shiremanstown, formerly of Trevorton, went to heaven on Monday Dec. 31, 2012, in Holy Spirit Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
She was born June 13, 1915, in Trevorton, a daughter of the late Frank Galinskie and Mary (Kurtz) Galinskie.
Mary was a very generous, caring, faithful and loving person. She had a great sense of humor and loved a good joke. She enjoyed gardening, the beach, word puzzles and any activity that involved getting together with her family or her extended Brannan family. She was devoted to Our Lord and to his Mother Mary. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Trevorton, and formerly was the church housekeeper for many years.
She is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Dolores and Philip Williams, of Harrisburg; brother in-law, Paul Scheetz, of Trevorton; nephew, David “Bo” Galinskie and wife Bernadette, of Shiremanstown, with whom she lived for the last 13 years, and their daughters, Elaine Fisher and husband Daniel, of Murrysville, Ellen and fiance Craig Wilson, Emmalynn and Elise, all of Shiremanstown; and many other loving and caring nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and Francis, and five sisters, Agnes, in infancy, Victoria Galinskie, Anna Scheetz, Cecelia Napolitano and Gertrude Walburn.
A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Church, 331 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 with the Rev. Louis P. Ogden as celebrant.
Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Contributions in Mary’s memory may be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church or to her adopted parish, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 400 E. Simpson St., Mechanicsburg, PA 17055.
Arrangements are by the Robert G. Foust Jr. Funeral Home, 841 W. Shamokin St., Trevorton.
