PORT TREVORTON — Gladys Irene (Reinard) Gaugler, 88, of Port Trevorton, died at her home on Monday, Dec. 31, 2012.
She was born March 22, 1924, the daughter of the late John and Katie (Herrold) Reinard. She was the last of her immediate family.
She was a member of United Church of God-International Association and served as a deaconess for more than 30 years.
Gladys was a dedicated mother and wife and leaves a legacy of a strong faith and love for her family. During her life, she enjoyed living on their farm, gardening, sewing and being surrounded by her family and friends. She especially had a tender love for and patience with children.
She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Dennis Wilhide, of Port Trevorton, Rosalee and John Massie, of Mattawana, Linda and Bob Zeigler, of Port Trevorton, and Kathy and Tom Charles, of Selinsgrove; one daughter-in-law, Patty Gaugler, of Selinsgrove; 15 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Alice Reinard, of Selinsgrove; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin C. “Charlie” Gaugler; her son, Robert L. Gaugler; and two brothers, Irvin “Pepsi” and Ammon Reinard.
There will be a viewing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, with Pastor Lee Cole officiating.
Burial will be in Susquehanna Mennonite Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
