MILLMONT — Nancy Ruth Spearing, 81, of 497 Zechman Lane since 1987, entered into rest at 3:07 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Rolling Hills Manor, Millmont.
She was born April 11, 1931, in Burnham, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Margaret R. (Kurtz) Kanour. On March 8, 1952, in Arlington, Va., she married Robert W. Spearing who preceded her in death Sept. 19, 2006.
Nancy was a 1949 graduate of Derry Township High School.
Nancy was employed in food service at Bucks County Community College and the Pennsbury School District. Later in life she was employed at St. Mary’s Hospital, Langhorne, and Dr. Richard Ward’s office, Mifflinburg.
She was a member of Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton since 1987, a member of the Laurelton’s Women’s Group, and volunteered as a den mother for the Cub Scouts in Fairless Hills.
Nancy was a Tupperware representative for many years, and enjoyed playing cards, crocheting, traveling, and camping. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are three sons and one daughter-in-law, Samuel K. Spearing, of Millmont, David S. Spearing, of Levittown, and William P. and Diana Spearing, of Levittown; two daughters and sons-in-law, Judith E. and James Palaia, of Philadelphia, and Rebecca J. and Joel Balasco, of Fairless Hills; one brother and sister-in-law, Eugene and Ruth Kanour of Albia, Iowa; 15 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Wesley R. Spearing; one grandson, Samuel K. Spearing Jr.; and one great-granddaughter, Alexus L. Taylor.
Family and friends are welcome from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lincoln Chapel United Methodist Church, Laurelton, where the funeral will be conducted at 11 with the Rev. Mark Messner officiating.
Burial will be in the Lincoln Chapel Cemetery.
