KLINGERSTOWN — LaRae V. Haas, 89, of Klingerstown, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Haas who died October 10, 1993.
Born Saturday, Nov. 10, 1923, in Pitman, she was a daughter of the late Allen P. and Pearl K. (Maurer) Heim.
She graduated from Hegins Township High School.
LaRae was a member of Zion Evangelical Congregational Church of Pitman where she taught the high school Sunday school class and was active with its missionary society.
She was a member of the Daughters of America, and the Eastern Star Lodge of Harrisburg.
LaRae loved reading, doing cross stitching, and spoiling her nieces and nephews when they came for “vacation.”
Surviving is one sister and brother-in-law, Marjorie and Paul Smith, of Pitman; three sisters-in-law, Sadie Heim, of Mechanicsburg, Miriam Heim, of Pitman and Lois Heim, of Pitman; 12 nieces; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great nieces and great-great nephews,
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Chester, Lamar, and Dean Heim, and an infant sister, Dawn.
There will be no viewin. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Zion Evangelical Congregational Church with the Rev. Todd Wolfe officiating.
Interment will follow in Zion E.C. Cemetery, Pitman.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion E.C. Church, C/O Dave Hummel 1536 Creek Road, Pitman, PA 17964.
