WINFIELD — Jean Mathilde Santucci, 87, of Winfield, passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

She was born Dec. 2, 1925, in Koblenz, Germany, a daughter of the late Pierre and Mathilde Helena (Franz) Allen. She was married for 50 years to William M. Santucci, who preceded her in death on Dec. 21, 2005.

She was a major advocate for Children and Youth Services, as well as supporting those with mental health and retardation. Jean was the founder of Choose a Child, which provided gifts to underprivileged children at Christmas.

Tiffin, of Winfield, Laura E. Santucci-Burley and her husband, Joel, of Northumberland, and Stephanie J. She was predeceased by one sister and brother-in-law, Christine and John Raymond; two brothers, Theodore and George; one daughter-in-law, Jill Santucci; and one son-in-law, David Tiffin.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, South Second and St. Louis streets, Lewisburg, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Church, 41 S. Eighth St., Lewisburg, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11 with her pastor, the Rev. Msgr William R. Richardson, as celebrant. Aprayer vigil will be held at the funeral home at 6:30 p.m. Friday.

Burial will be in Orchard Hills Cemetery, Shamokin Dam.
