RICHFIELD — Betty A. Hoffman, 85, of Richfield, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013, at the Nipple Convalescent Home, Liverpool.
Betty was born March 15, 1927, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, a daughter of the late Norman H. and Lillie Mae (Leister) Niemond. She was married to John Glenn Hoffman, who preceded her on Jan. 26, 2002.
Betty attended the Evendale grammar schoolhouse.
She was employed with the L. Shellenberger and Son Shirt factory, Richfield. In 1962, she and her husband opened and operated the Evendale Garage until 1984.
Betty was a lifetime member of Niemonds Independent Church, Richfield, and was a member of the Richfield Fire and Ambulance Company.
She enjoyed crocheting, fishing in Canada and spending time with her family, especially her granddaughters and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence N. and Carol Hoffman, of Richfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie L. and Jack Sheaffer, of Richfield; four granddaughters and their spouses, Suzy and Wade Stahr, Missy and John Hummel, Leah and Joe Auker and Mindy and Barry Kobel; nine great-grandchildren, J.C., Nick, Larissa, Isaac, Olivia, Hunter, Wyatt, Mitch and Brenna; one brother, Lester Niemond, of Richfield; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by a sister and brother-in-law, Anna Mae and Paul Master, and one sister-in-law, June Niemond.
Friends and family are invited to the viewing from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the George P. Garman Funeral Homes Inc., 9366 Route 35, Mount Pleasant Mills, with Associate Pastor Steven Osenga officiating.
Burial will be in Niemond Cemetery, Richfield.
