Mark A. Campbell, 71, Burlington, Conn

BURLINGTON, Conn. — Mark A. Campbell, 71, of Burlington, loving husband of Dr. Barbara (Stehman) Campbell, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012.

He was born in Sunbury, Pa., a son of the late Marvin and Anna (Raker) Campbell. He lived in Burlington for the past 16 years and previously in Avon, Conn., for almost 20 years.

After graduation from Penn State, he taught vocational agriculture for seven years prior to moving to a new career in the insurance industry. He achieved his CLU and CPCU designations and worked for LIMRA International, Windsor, retiring in 2005.

Mark loved working on Meadow Pond, his 22-acre farm. He was a member of Maple Syrup Producers of Connecticut and the Connecticut Christmas Tree Growers, a director of the Harwinton Fair, and part of the Faithful Hands ministry.

In addition to his wife Barbara, he is survived by his son, Dr. Ryan S. Campbell, of Gratz, Pa.; his daughter, Megan Campbell, of Natick, Mass.; his siblings, Marlin, Homer and Earl Campbell and Shirley Moyer, all of Pennsylvania, as well as many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Valley Community Baptist Church, 590 W. Avon Road, Avon, Conn.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Stonington, Pa.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Marvin and Anna Campbell Missionary Support Fund, c/o Grace Community Church, 1218 State Route 225, Herndon, PA 17830.
