NORTHUMBERLAND — Alvin L. Stuck, 94, of Northumberland,went to be with the Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at the Geisinger Shamokin Area Community Hospital.
He was born Sept. 24, 1918, in Point Township, a son of the late Levi and Ellen (Yeager) Stuck. He was married to the former Gladys Brown who preceded him in death in 2002.
Alvin attended Point Township schools and served with the Army during World War II.
He was formerly employed by the Pennsylvania Railroad, later as a private contractor, and was last employed as a service technician for Stamm’s T.V. in Lewisburg. He also did furniture upholsterin at his home.
He was a member of the Winfield Baptist Church, the American Legion Post 44, Northumberland, and a life member of the Sunbury Social Club.
Alvin was a jack-of-all-trades and enjoyed doing repairs of all sorts for his family and friends.
He is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Judith “Judy” Stuck and Gladys “Dolly” Smith, both of Northumberland, and Janey and Ken Gurysh, of Florida; one daughter-in-law, Lois Stuck, of Mifflinburg; nine grandchildren and their spouses, Gregory Stuck, Wendy and Daryl Orris, Jeffrey and Kim Stuck, Jennifer and Austin Wade, Ken and Michelle Gurysh, Wade and LeeAnn Gurysh, Todd and Jessie Smith, Tina and Mike Bordner and Jayne and Matt Bock; 13 great-grandchildren, Asher, Darby, Jessalyn, Jenna, Jedediah, Brooklyn, Kiley, Taylor, Myles, Rory, Mikey Jr., Cody and Joshua; two great-great-grandchildren, Hunter and Lynnely; and two sisters, Roxanna Adams, of Mill Hall and Florence Wynn, of Millersburg.
He was preceded in death by one son, Wendel; two brothers, Harry and Charles; three sisters, Doris Klinger, Mary Straub, and Margaret Carter; one half brother, Samuel Stuck; and his favorite dog, Lady.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 11.
Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations in Alvin’s memory to the Winfield Baptist Church, SUN Home Hospice, Northumberland, or the Riverview Cemetery, Northumberland.
