SUNBURY — Patricia Ann (Carr) Holtzapple, 68, of 960 Masser Street, passed away Friday, Feb. 15, 2013, at the Golden Living Center (Mansion), Sunbury.
She was born March 21, 1944, in Northumberland, a daughter of the late Russell A. Carr and Elmanda (Hollister) Stahl.
On Nov. 22, 1963, she married Earl W. Holtzapple, who passed away on Dec. 19, 2012. They celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this past year and as always joked about spending their honeymoon on the Battlefields of Gettysburg, due to the fact that President Kennedy was shot on their wedding day and the only place that didn’t close were the battlefields.
Patricia was a member of St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Sunbury, and attended Sunbury High School.
She worked many years at the Sunbury Textile Mill and later in life worked at various retail stores in the area.
She loved music, especially “the oldies” and she knew every word to almost every “oldies” song. She and Earl loved to dance and to be with friends in their younger years and one of her last conversations was about how she would once again be able to dance with the love of her life when it was her time to pass.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Marjorie Lynn and Toby Neff, of Sunbury; one son and daughter-in-law, David Harding and Laura Holtzapple, of Sunbury; two grandsons, Grant and Zachary Neff; one granddaughter, Laniejo Holtzapple; and her best dog, Max.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Keamer Stahl; two brothers, Russell Carr and Donald Carr; and one granddaughter, Davejo Holtzapple.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by a memorial service at 7.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at a later date in Witmer’s Memorial Cemetery, Port Trevorton.
