BEAVER SPRINGS — Cheryll Lou Zechman, 57, of Covered Bridge Road, went home to be with her Lord and Savior at 6:50 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 6, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
She was born Oct. 22, 1955, in Lewistown, the daughter of Larry G. and LaVerne L. (Bailey) Freed, of Beaver Springs. On May 4, 1974, she married Larry R. Zechman, who survives.
Cheryll was a 1973 graduate of West Snyder High School.
She had been employed at Beavertown Block, Poloron Homes, the Snyder County Courthouse and most recently Playworld Systems in Lewisburg.
She attended Christ Church in Beaver Springs, where she was active as the church pianist, youth group leader, choir director and a leader in the Women’s Ministry. Cheryll was a very devout member and lived her life for the Lord.
She enjoyed making jewelry, cooking, taking trips to Florida and especially spending time with her family and her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her parents and husband, are two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathaniel L. and Amy J. Zechman, of Beaver Springs, and Aaron M. and Bethany L. Zechman, of Middleburg; four grandchildren, Owen N., Samantha J., Maya L. and Macie C. Zechman; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Kim L. and Jane Freed, of Beaver Springs, Scott D. Freed, of Beaver Springs, and Eric B. and Abby Freed, of Beavertown; and 10 nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Reno and Mildred Bailey, and her paternal grandparents, Meade and Mary Freed.
A time of visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Christ Church, Beaver Springs, followed by a memorial service at 1 with Pastor John Poulette officiating.
Interment will follow in Adamsburg Cemetery, Beaver Springs.
Contributions in Cheryll’s memory may be made to the Cheryll Zechman Scholarship Fund for her grandchildren, Owen, Samantha, Maya and Macie Zechman. Donations may be sent to Swineford Bank, 19680 Route 522, Beaver Springs, PA 17812.
Arrangements are by the Pheasant Funeral Home, 316 W. Market St., Beavertown.
