TAMPA, Fla. — Wilma A. (Watson) Weatherill, 94, of Tampa, went to be with her Lord on December 24, 2012.
She was born June 10, 1918, in Geneva, N.Y., the oldest surviving child of Boyd and Lenna (Felton) Watson. On Oct. 3, 1943, in Bloomsburg, Pa., she married Allen R. Weatherill who passed away on Feb. 15, 1995, severing 51 years of marriage.
Wilma was a 1937 graduate of Northumberland High School and a 1940 graduate of State Beauty School, Williamsport, Pa.,
She worked in a beauty shop in Sunbury until she moved to Philadelphia where she met her future husband. Wilma served as tax assessor for the Shikellamy School District from 1977-1978. In 1979, she became the office manager of Twin Streams Campground, Morris, Pa., until her retirement in 1987. In 1991, her and her husband retired to Florida.
She was of the Lutheran faith and a past member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northumberland, Pa.,where she was the church secretary, the Zion Evangelical Lutheran, Turbotville, Pa., Messiah Lutheran Church, Cocoa, Fla., Joy Lutheran, Palm Bay, Fla., and the Fountainview Community Church in Tampa.
Wilma loved to travel, visiting places such as Hawaii, Texas, Alaska, as well as other states. In the last few years she belonged to a group of crafters that made caps for infants. She also loved to go out to eat with her friends.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Robert Koble, with whom she lived, and Kimberly and Lawrence Flook, of Apache Junction, Ariz.; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and SharonWeatherill, of Security, Colo.; four grandchildren and spouses, Gary and Sonja Koble, Paula Koble, Barbara Villeza, and Joshua and Wendy Weatherill; two great-granddaughters; five great-grandsons; one great-great-granddaughter; one sister, L. Edythe Snyder, of Georgetown, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Anne Watson, of Carrollton, Ga.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Dale Watson in 2000, and brother-in-law, James Snyder in 2006.
A memorial service will held at a later date.
