BERWICK — Ronald P. Perkoski, 36, formerly of Berwick, passed away on Tuesday, Jan.1, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born Aug. 19, 1976, in Berwick, a son of Donald Perkoski and Patrick and Judith (Adams) Schwab.
During his life, he worked at the Dollar Tree warehouse in Briar Creek, Friedman Electric, Selinsgrove, Wilkes Pools, Mifflinville, and his favorite job, working at the Bloomsburg Fair for Mario Rojas. He also was a DJ and owned Phatcatsounds.
He attended the Berwick Assembly of God Church and was a social member of the Eagle Hose Company of Berwick.
An avid scout, Ron was a Cub, Boy, and Explorer in Post 250. One summer he served as an assistant lifeguard at Camp Lavigne. Hunting, fishing camping, music, motorcycles, NASCAR and the NFL were among the things he most enjoyed.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by one son, Stephen Mycle Perkoski, of Shamokin Dam; one brother, Hurley Reese Jr., of Columbia, Md.; halfsister, Sandie Wildoner, of Millville; stepsister, Tammy Sears, of Berwick; special aunt, Leonora Garrison, of Berwick; his former wife, Lucinda Reinard, of Shamokin Dam; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Paul and Orianna Adams Sr.; paternal stepgrandparents, Virgil and Neva Schwab; special uncle, Robert Garrison; and best friend, Wayne Welch.
A visitation is will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Berwick Assembly of God Church, 801 E. Fifth St., Berwick, where the funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Keith Evans officiating.
Burial will follow at the Pine Grove Cemetery, Walnut St., Berwick.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to help defray funeral expenses. Donations can be sent to Mrs. Judith Schwab, 1100 Ferris Ave., Berwick, PA. 18603.
