TURBOTVILLE — Cloyd I. Ross, 72, of Turbotville, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born April 14, 1940, in Forest Hill, a son of the late Clarence Wilson and Gettie (Catherman) Ross. He was married for 53 years to the former Joan Shettler, who survives.
Cloyd had been a welder for AC&F, Milton.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Milton, and a social member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Mifflinburg, and the American Legion, Milton.
Cloyd enjoyed hunting, tractor pulls and butchering. In his earlier years, he liked to drag race at Beaver Springs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, April Fillmore and her companion, Jon Young, of Milton, and Sonya Berger and her husband, Brian, of Watsontown; four grandchildren, Charity Page and her husband, Harry, Avery Fillmore, Carrianna Berger and Jarod Berger; three great-grandchildren, Trenton and Trevor Page and Zoey Fillmore; one brother, Chester Ross, of Mifflinburg; and one sister, Laura Sees, of Myrtle Beach.
He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Candace Fillmore; three brothers, Harry, Clair and Dale Ross; and one sister, Isabell Shiffer.
Friends and relatives will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Shaw Funeral Home, 400 N. Front St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. John E. Lee officiating.
Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
The family will provide flowers and asks that contributions in Cloyd’s memory be made to the American Heart Association, 417 A Phoenix Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
