LEWISBURG — Grace Charlotte Walker, 74, of 507 Aikey Hill Road since 1966, entered into rest at 12:28 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
She was born Feb. 15, 1938, in Cowan, a daughter of the late Paul E. and Rebecca M. (Snyder) Sheesley. On June 25, 1961, in Lewisburg, she married Chester W. Walker Sr., who survives.
Earlier in life, she was employed at the Milton Shoe factory and the Soup Bowl Restaurant, Mifflinburg. Grace and her husband operated the Penns Creek Raceway, where she was known as the “Pit Entrance Lady.”
She attended West End Bible Fellowship, Millmont.
Grace enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo and was devoted to her dog, Coco.
Surviving, in addition to her husband of 51 years, are three daughters and one son-in-law, Patricia M. and Paul A. Kahler, of Millmont, Denise E. Walker, of Lewisburg, and Teresa Walker and her companion, Ken Sampsell, of New Columbia; one son and daughter-in-law, Brian S. and Melody R. Walker, of Mifflinburg; one stepson, Paul Walker and his fiancee, Geri Bradley, of Laurelton; one brother and one sister-in-law, Paul and Lois Sheesley, of Lewisburg; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Joe Geiser, of Lewisburg, and Helen and Donald Wirth, of Hartleton; six grandchildren, Kayla Kahler and her fiance, Keith Kessler Jr., Keith A. and his wife, Sheri Kahler, Katie A. Walker, Ryan C. Walker, Alysia K.K. Sampsell and Alyson I. Sampsell; and two stepgrandsons, Paul L. Walker Jr. and Wesley C. Walker.
She was preceded in death by one son, Chester W. Walker Jr.; three brothers, Marshall, James, and Kenneth Sheesley; four sisters, Martha Benfer, Rebecca Yerger, Thelma Long and Laura Sheesley; and one granddaughter, Amanda M. Lower.
Family and friends are welcome from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, followed by the funeral at 2, at West End Bible Fellowship, 19200 Old Turnpike Road, Millmont, with Pastor Richard L. DeVett officiating.
Burial will be in Mazeppa Union Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to assist the Walker family to the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
