BEAVER SPRINGS — Larry G. Mowery, 60, of Beaver Springs, passed away at 3:35 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Manor Care, Sunbury.
He was born Oct. 8, 1952, in Lewisburg, a son of Phyliss B. (Iddings) Mowery, of Mount Pleasant Mills, and the late Nile H. Mowery.
Larry had been employed at Ritter Feeds, Paxtonville, until August 2011 when his illness forced his retirement. Before Ritter Feeds, he had been employed by New Penn Motor Freight and S&L Services, Milton, and by his brother, Ronald Mowery Concrete Contracting.
He had attended Mountain Road God’s Missionary Church, Penns Creek.
Larry was an avid hunter and enjoyed working on vehicles and doing handiwork and helping others. He found great joy in spending time with his family and his grandpuppies.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer M. and Brandon Zeiders, of Beaver Springs; one son, Jonathan G. Mowery, of Lewisburg; five brothers and three sisters-in-law, Leonard Mowery, Wayne and Carole Mowery, Ronald Mowery and Harvey and Wanda Mowery, all of Mount Pleasant Mills, and Clayton and Wanita Mowery, of Mifflinburg; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Louise and David Bridge, of Mifflinburg, and Jean and William Poeth, of Potts Grove; many nieces and nephews; and his very close friend, Gene “Roy” DePhillips.
Friends and family will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, followed by the funeral at 2 with the Rev. Alan K. Walter officiating.
Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Penns Creek.
