Eleanor L. Borkoski, 92, Northumberland

NORTHUMBERLAND — Eleanor L. Borkoski, 92, of Northumberland, passed away at Nottingham Village on Friday, Nov. 30, 2012.  

She was born April 3, 1920, in Pillow, a daughter of the late Robert and Anna (Poplaskie) Borkoski.

Eleanor attended Forrest Schools.

She was employed for many years at Millersburg Shoe factory. She had also worked keeping house for Mr. and Mrs. Roy Gardner, who were her dear friends and who preceded her in death.  

She was a member of St. Monica Church, Sunbury and the Northern Star over 50 Club. After she retired she enjoyed being active in the Herndon Senior Center.

Eleanor was an avid gardener and enjoyed canning.

She is survived by 12 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Sarah, Florence and Lorraine, and two brothers, Joseph and Robert.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 10, at the David T. Zweier Funeral Home, 157 Chestnut St., Sunbury.

Burial will be private in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.  

Contributions in Eleanor’s memory may be made to St. Monica Church, Market Street, Sunbury, PA 17801.
