MIFFLINBURG — Charles William “Mackie” McFarland, 75, of 1825 Wabash Road for more than 50 years, entered into rest at 7:10 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at Manor Care, Sunbury.
He was born April 1, 1937, in Lewisburg, a son of the late Robert B. and Ida Mae (Thromer) McFarland. He was married to the former Anna V. Walter, who survives. They were married for more than 50 years.
Mackie was a 1955 graduate of Lewisburg High School. He served in the Army from 1960 until his honorable discharge in 1962.
Mackie was employed by American Home Foods, Milton. Earlier in life, he worked at Philco, Watsontown, and the Milton Shoe factory.
He enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Scott McFarland, of Mifflinburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Kelly and Brent Ulrich, of Mifflinburg; one stepson, Michael Erb, of Norfolk, Va.; one stepdaughter, Debra and her husband, Ronald Tyson, of Mifflinburg; one sister, Lucille McFarland, of Milton; and four grandchildren, Brianna Ulrich, Mikayla McFarland, Jamie Miller and Steven Heimbach.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Robert McFarland, and one sister, Mary McFarland.
Funeral services will be conducted privately at the convenience of the family.
Funeral arrangements are by the Roupp Funeral Home Inc., 8594 Old Turnpike Road, Mifflinburg.
