Frederick Gast, 77, North Huntingdon

NORTH HUNTINGDON — Frederick Gast, 77, of North Huntingdon, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.  

He was born May 7, 1935, in Danville, a son of the late Paul A. and Leona (McAdams) Gast. He was married to the former Christine M. Fisher who survives.

He was a retired truck driver for Charles Chips, Mountville.

Frederick was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Irwin.  

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three children, one son and daughter-in-law, Mark F. and Isabel Gast, of Richmond, Va., and two daughters and one son-in-law, Michele and Brian McKinney, of Slickville and Lisa R. Reedy, of New Columbia; grandchildren, Tiffany and Tyler Reedy, Laurie and Andrew Gast, Caylene and Shannon McKinney, and Caitlyn Reedy; great-grandchildren, Ethan Rearick and Zachary Reedy; one sister, Leona Wagner, of Mifflinburg; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by three siblings, A. Beaver Gast, Eleanor Foulke and Margaret Gast.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by the funeral at 11, at the William Snyder Funeral Home, 521 Main St., Irwin, with his pastor, Dr. Clifton J. Suehr, officiating.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in Frederick’s memory to the American Heart Association.
