LEWISBURG — Lena G. Szutowicz, 94, of 900 Hardscrabble Lane, died, Friday, Nov. 16, 2012, at RiverWoods, Lewisburg.
She was born Oct. 19, 1918, in White Deer, a daughter of the late Luther and Grace (Elliott) Hursh. She married Edward A. Szutowicz Sr., who preceded her in death on May 31, 1971.
Lena owned and operated the former Blue Note tavern, East Lewisburg, for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed word puzzles and reading.
Surviving are her companion, Cyrus Schreck, of Lewisburg; one son, Edward A. Szutowicz Jr., of Milton; one daughter and son-in-law, Priscilla and Franklin Pursell, of Milton; one brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Lois Hursh, of Allentown; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Carmen Wade and Thelma and Robert Ranck, all of Lewisburg; four grandchildren, Leilani Doskocil, Lisa Pursell, Crystal Daley and Stephen Pursell; and six great-grandchildren, Heather Adams, Preston Doskocil, Patrick Doskocil, Logan Pursell, Ronan Pursell and Maxwell Daley.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by one brother, Nathan Hursh, and two sisters, Mildred Baker and Margaret Taylor.
A graveside service will be held privately and at the convenience of the family in Highland Cemetery.
The family is being assisted by the Cronrath-Grenoble Funeral Home, 308 Main St., Watsontown.
