SELINSGROVE — Thelma J. Brouse, 91, of 4021 Route 204, passed away at 10:35 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at the SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury.
She was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Jackson Township, Snyder County, a daughter of the late Arthur P. and Victoria (Herman) Herman.
Earlier in life she had worked on the family farm, Furman Foods, Northumberland, and was a seamstress in factories in New Berlin, Mifflinburg and Middleburg.
She was a member of Zions Church of Kratzerville and the Women’s Guild.
Thelma enjoyed gardening and loved flowers. She also enjoyed canning, word search puzzles, and going to carnivals. The greatest joy of life were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Larry A. Brouse, of Selinsgrove, and Lamar E. and Debra Hendricks Brouse, of Duncannon; one granddaughter, Heather Brouse Pollock and her husband, Joseph, of Seaford, Del.; two great-granddaughters, Sydnee and Hannah Pollock.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Diane in infancy; one grandson, Mason Brouse on May 29, 2009; two sisters, Myrtle Knouse and Arlene Heckman; and one brother, Marvin Herman.
Friends and family will be received from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove, followed by the funeral at 1 with the SUN Home Hospice chaplain, the Rev. James R. Taylor, officiating.
Burial will be in the Zion Reformed Cemetery, Kratzerville.
