MILTON — Lois Good Lessner, 87, of Hepburn Street, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at the SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury.
She was born Nov. 24, 1922, in Milton, a daughter of the late Donald S. and Beatrice Ivy (Good) Cawley. On Nov. 6, 1943, she married Edwin F. Lessner who survives. She was a 1941 graduate of Milton High School.
Lois was a homemaker and worked as a librarian at the Milton Public Library from 1941-1945.
She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Northumberland.
Lois enjoyed genealogy. She traveled with the National American Red Cross doing disaster work on islands in the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean Ocean, and the Pacific Ocean and at various locations in the United States.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Norma “Gay” Wands, of Lewisburg, Joy and Norman Henry, of Elkton, Md., and Lori and Andrew Zerbe, of Milton; five grandchildren, Gerald Wands Jr., Ethan Wands, Heather Henry, Jillian (Zerbe) Lepi, and Nicholas Zerbe; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends and relatives will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 2294 Ridge Road, Northumberland, where the funeral will be held at 2 with Bishop J.B. Jones, officiating.
Burial will be in the Milton Cemetery.
The family will provide flowers and ask that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made to SUN Home Health and Hospice, 61 Duke St., P.O. Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857-0232.
Arrangements are under the care of the Shaw Funeral Home Inc., 400 N. Front St., Milton.
