Geraldine Grove Loss, 88, Lewisburg

LEWISBURG — Geraldine Grove Loss, 88, formerly of Williamsport, died peacefully on Friday morning, Dec. 7, 2012, at Buffalo Valley Lutheran Village, Lewisburg, where she had been a resident since 2006.

She was born June 24, 1924, in Linden, the first daughter of Watson E. and Carrie B. Grove.

Gerry spent most of her professional career as an elementary school teacher in the Williamsport Area School District.

 Following her time in teaching, she supported her husband in United Methodist ministry. They served parishes in Loganton, Osceola Mills and South Williamsport.

Gerry is survived by her husband of 61 years, Kenneth D. Loss, of Lewisburg; one son Douglas R. Loss, of Columbia, Md., daughters Jo A. Roberts, of Alexandria, Va., Susan D. Laidacker, of Danville, Pa., and Karen E. Loss, of McLean, Va.  She was also the proud grandmother of four grandchildren, Timothy A. Fargus, of Baltimore, Md., Jonathan S. Laidacker, of Philadelphia, Laura D. Moore, of Watsontown, and Stefanos Loss, of South Williamsport.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Heshbon Park United Methodist Church, 2898 Heshbon Rd., Williamsport,
