MIFFLINBURG — John Franklin Bickert Jr., 61, of 300 N. Fourth St., passed away at 12:12 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg. He was a resident of Mifflinburg for the past 36 years.
He was born July 22, 1951, in Danville, a son of the late John F. “Jack” Sr. and Eleanor E. (Conrad) Bickert.
John was a 1969 graduate of Shamokin High School.
He was employed as an aide at the Laurelton and Selinsgrove Centers.
John was a member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Shamokin and was a former Eagle Scout.
He is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie and Joseph Lemmon, of Sunbury, and Judy and William Perless, of McGabeysville, Va.
He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Bickert on Jan. 4, 1945.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington with the Rev. Dr. Robert Peiffer officiating.
