POQUOSON, Va. — Mary Ann Good, 65, passed early Monday morning, Nov. 26, 2012, at the home of her daughter, with whom she had lived since 2008. She lived most of her life in Selinsgrove, Pa.
She was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Danville, Pa., a daughter of the late James and Grace (Rice) Stevenson. She was married to Allen R. Good, who preceded her in death in 2000.
Mary Ann was a 1964 graduate of Selinsgrove High School and a graduate of the Empire Beauty School.
She was a special education aide at several area schools before retiring from the Sunbury Middle School.
She was Episcopalian and at her passing was attending St. Timothy Anglican Church in Virginia.
Mary Ann had more than 30 years of service with the Boy Scouts, was a Boy Scout commissioner and was active in various area troops. She also was active with the Girl Scouts.
She was known in her community as “Nana” and was an adopted grandmother and great-grandmother to many.
Surviving are her daughter, Terri Ann Shambach, of Poquoson; one grandson, Joshua Green, who was the light of her life; stepdaughter, Angelia Good Snyder, of Northumberland, Pa.; one stepson, Richard A. Good Jr., of McClure, Pa.; stepgrandchildren; three cousins, Nancy Sweger, Larry Updegrove and Janet Hastings-Cariota; and Helodie Delrue, Taylor Blackwell; and Blake Bell, whom she considered her adopted grand and great-grandchildren, and all of whom were a large part of her life.
Friends and family will be received from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg, Pa.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday in Glendale Cemetery, Middleburg, with Pastor Chad Herrold officiating.
