GLEN ARM, Md. — Grace C. Trythall, 92, of Glen Meadows Retirement Community, passed away on Dec. 26, 2012.
She was born Sept. 28, 1919, in Port Trevorton, Pa., a daughter of the late Claude H. and Cardella (Shotzberger) Charles. She was one of four children. She was the beloved wife of the late Raymond H. Trythall.
She attended the local one-room schoolhouse for eight years and then went to high school in Selinsgrove, Pa. She left high school to work in the silk mill industry in order to help the family.
She met her husband, Raymond, at the roller rink in Herndon, Pa. He was from Trevorton, Pa., and a plumber by trade. They married in 1939 and started their family. The moved from Port Trevorton to Selinsgrove and then later to Parkville, Md., a suburb of Baltimore.
Grace enjoyed collecting Longaberger baskets and quilting. She made baby quilts for each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was a devoted mother to Myra K. Taylor, Sally A. Mears, Raymond C. Trythall, Kenneth H. Trythall, Cardella T. Forrester and Claudia McCleary; and also is survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, James H. Trythall II.
A memorial service was held Jan. 19 in Hiss United Methodist Church.
Inurnment was private.
