LEWISBURG — Virginia Rose Zaid, 95, of Lewisburg, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.
She was a daughter of the late William and Rose Holden.
She attended primary school in Binghamton, N.Y., and earned a degree in home economics from Syracuse University. There she met and later married the late Dia-El-Din Zaid of Alexandria, Egypt, and settled in Baltimore, Md.
Virginia was a homemaker and raised three children.
She volunteered as an assistant kindergarten teacher at the Milford Mill United Methodist Church.
Virginia enjoyed simple pleasures like reading, crossword puzzles, Monet paintings, British comedies, chocolate graham crackers with peanut butter, and her three grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters, Farida Zaid, of Lewisburg, and Rhoda Zaid, of Baltimore; one son, Adly Zaid, of Seattle, Wash.; and three granddaughters, Juliana Brafa, Sierra Shamer and Kelsey Shamer.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Tucker.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the John H. Shaw III Funeral Home, Market and Eighth streets, Lewisburg, followed by a memorial service at 11:30.
Memorial contributions in Virginia’s memory may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
