SUNBURY — Betty Jane Renn, 84, of Sunbury, passed away Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Nottingham Village, Northumberland.
She was born April 2, 1928, in Milton, a daughter of the late Homer and Sarah (Konkle) Raup. She was married to Robert F. Renn, who preceded her in death on May 31, 2011.
Betty Jane was a 1946 graduate of Sunbury High School and a 1950 graduate of Susquehanna University.
For a short time, she was employed by the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare. After her son, Roger, was born in 1951, she became a full-time housewife.
Betty Jane collected antiques and was considered an expert in that field. She and her late husband, Robert, attended many sales throughout the area. She loved cats and dogs, was an avid Penn State fan and enjoyed playing cards with friends.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Betty Cook and her husband, Ray, of Selinsgrove; one nephew, Merle Cydis and his wife, Jean, of Macungie; and two cousins, Pat Snyder, of New Columbia, and Joe Konkle, of Hendersonville, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger, and one brother, Homer Raup Jr.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Harmony Cemetery, Milton.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations in Betty Jane’s memory to Mostly Mutts.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
