COATESVILLE — Leroy Kemery, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at the Coatesville VA Medical Center, Coatesville. He was a former resident of King of Prussia.
He was born July 5, 1919, in Sunbury, a son of the late William E. and Elizabeth M. (Comfort) Kemery. He was married to the former Jean D. D’Amico who preceded him in death in 1974 and the former Lida S. Smith who died in 2000.
Leroy served in the Army and was a veteran of World War II, serving a tech sergeant from 1941 to 1945 in the Persian Gulf.
He was employed as a public accountant for the former Jomac Inc., Warrington.
He was a member of Mother of Divine Providence Church, King of Prussia, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 7878, King of Prussia and the American Legion Frank C. Parker Jr. Post 901, Norristown.
He is survived by his loving daughter and son-in-law, Bettiann and Rob Kinsey, Lansdale; three grandchildren, Gregory, Evan and Katie Bruno; two stepgrandchildren, Sara and Emily Kinsey; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Warren Kemery, and two sisters, Mary Snyder and Helen Blackwell.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 9 to 9:50 a.m. Wednesday at Mother of Divine Providence Church, 333 Allendale Road, King of Prussia, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 with the Rev. Martin T. Cioppi as celebrant.
Interment will be in St. Augustine Cemetery, King of Prussia.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Leroy’s memory to the Coatesville VA Medical Center Hospice Unite, 1400 Black Horse Hill Road, Coatesville, PA 19320.
Arrangements are by the Bacchi Funeral Home and Crematory, Ltd., 805 DeKalb St., Bridgeport.
