SUNBURY — Althea M. “Tootie” Schrawder, 83, of Sunbury, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, in Sunbury Community Hospital.
She was born Nov. 13, 1929, in Rockefeller Township, a daughter of the late Milton and Catherine (Wolfe) Kerstetter. She was married to Lawrence E. Schrawder, who preceded her in death on Sept. 20, 2011.
Tootie formerly was employed by the Nite Kraft Co., Sunbury, and Bucknell University, Lewisburg.
She was a member of United Lutheran Church, Sunbury.
Tootie enjoyed camping, traveling, quilting, knitting, crocheting and gardening. She was a loving person, and her favorite times were the ones with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tootie always had a smile on her face for everyone.
She is survived by five children and their spouses, Cynthia and Larry Sutherland, of Danville, Cedric Schrawder and his fiancee, Robin, of Sunbury, Catherine and Jack McGiness, Clyde and Linda Schrawder and Chris Schrawder, all of Sunbury; eight grandchildren, Justin and Jared Sutherland, Brandon, Mark and Alec Schrawder, Chad McGinnis, Paulina Hartman and Jacob Lenker; 12 great-grandchildren, Weston, Briana, Tristian, Pharibee, Zoe, Kaden, Wyatt, Owen, Jeweleanna, Elise, Liam and Lucas; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Annabelle and Clair Brosious and Jeanne Hertzog, all of Sunbury; and one sister-in-law, Erma Reader, of Sunbury.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Clyde, and one sister, Sarah Yasinski.
A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at United Lutheran Church at Wolf’s Crossroads, followed by the funeral at 11.
Burial will be in the adjoining church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, friends are asked to make donations to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
