WATSONTOWN — Zane A. “Butch” Laubach, 65, of Watsontown, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Butch was born Jan. 13, 1947, in Milton, a son of the late Zane H. and Doris M. (Linn) Laubach. On Nov. 18, 1968, he married the former Sara J. Gardner, who survives. They celebrated 44 years of marriage.
He was a 1964 graduate of Warrior Run High School.
Butch worked for Jerold Lloyd Construction as a block layer for more than 25 years.
He was a member of the Montour Antique Tractor Club.
Butch enjoyed watching the Yankees, Vikings, NASCAR and WWE wrestling. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting grass, attending his grandson’s sporting events and John Wayne movies. Most of all, he loved his bluegrass music.
In addition to his wife, Butch is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Jason A. and Dori Laubach and Cory L. and Sarah Laubach, and two grandsons, Aaron Z. and Dylan L. Laubach, all of Watsontown; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Harold R. and Libby A. Laubach, of New Columbia, and Barry L. Laubach and companion Elaine Fenstamacher, of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Brian, and one sister, Bonita.
A public viewing will take place from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Saturday at the Salvation Army Church, 30 Center St., Milton, followed by the funeral at 4:30 with Capt. Harold R. Laubach Jr. and Capt. Magaly E. Laubach officiating.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Butch’s memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Suite 101, Harrisburg, PA 17110, or to North Central Dialysis Clinic, 135 JPM Road, Lewisburg, PA 17837.
