CAMP HILL — H. Jean Zeisloft, 82, of Camp Hill, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012, at Holy Spirit Hospital. She was surrounded by her family.
She was born Aug. 9, 1930, in Pottsville, the daughter of the late Clarence Elmer and Edith Mae (Howells) Wills. She was married to the Rev. Dr. James H. Zeisloft, who survives.
Jean was a retired customer service specialist of the former Gimbels Department Store in Harrisburg.
She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Harrisburg.
She founded Contact Altoona and co-founded the Altoona Food Bank. She was a board member of the Harrisburg Neighborhood Center, Child Advocacy of Central Pennsylvania, Domestic Abuse Advisory Committee, Blair County Emergency Food and Shelter and Blair County Health and Welfare. She was a member of the board of Church and Society of the United Methodist Church, HELP Committee Directory, YWCA nominating committee and the Woodview Garden Club.
Jean received the John Riley Award for Outstanding Participation in Community Work, was Public Citizen of the Year of the West-Central Pennsylvania Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers, was recognized on WTAJ on “People are Great” and received the Outstanding Citizen Award from Cub Scout Pack 1.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one son, James H. Jr., of Kennewick, Wash.; two daughters, Deborah A. Zeisloft (Gerald Driggs), of Pittsburgh, and Elizabeth J. Zeisloft, of Camp Hill; and two grandchildren, Jacob and Sarah Driggs.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in Grace United Methodist Church, 216 State St., Harrisburg. A visitation will follow the service. Attendees may park in the South Street garage.
