SELINSGROVE — Robert Clayton Combs Jr., 43, of Scrubby Hill Road, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012, at his home.
He was born May 9, 1969, in Lewisburg, a son of Betty (Aurand) Kratzer, of Middleburg and the late Robert Clayton Combs Sr.
Robert attended West Snyder High School.
He had been employed by Western Auto, Mifflinburg, Larry Troutman Sales, Big Bee Boats, and had operated Custom Construction and currently owned and operated All Motor Sports.
Rob enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, jet skiing, boating and spending time in the outdoors. He enjoyed riding anything with two-wheels, four-wheels, or no wheels, namely anything that moved fast and had a motor. He loved his three daughters and spending time with his grandchildren.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three daughters, Sarah Combs, of New Columbia, Robin Combs, of Mifflinburg, and Alissa Combs, of Lewisburg; three grandchildren, Brock, Jaci and Abigail; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Christopher and Ronda Combs, of McClure and Darvin Combs, of Middleburg; one sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Michael Hedricks, of Selinsgrove; one half sister, Jennifer Wake, of Missouri; paternal grandmother, Rosetta Combs, of Indiana; stepfather, Doyle Kratzer, of Middleburg; one stepbrother and three stepsisters; stepgrandmother, Dorothy Aurand, of New Columbia; two nephews, Ryan Combs and Logan Sitzes; seven nieces, Erika and Brooklyn Cherry, Courtney and Kaitlyn Zechman, Chelsea and Bailey Wake, and Destiny Sitzes; and many aunts and uncles, including special uncle, Ronnie Combs.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, the Rev. William Combs; maternal grandparents, Nora and Dayton Aurand Sr.; and his maternal great-grandparents with whom he was very close, Lottie and Henry Aurand.
Friends and family will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesdayand from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, followed by the funeral at 11 at Beavertown God’s Missionary Church with the Rev. James Plank, the Rev. Jeff Stratton, the Rev. Stephen Aurand and the Rev. Rodney Keister, officiating.
Burial will be in the Beavertown God’s Missionary Church Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Hummel Funeral Home, 574 Hill St., Middleburg.
