Richard R. Lambert, 84, Sunbury

SUNBURY — Richard Russell Lambert, 84, of Sunbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012, at Manor Care, Sunbury.

He was born Nov. 7, 1927, in East Stroudsburg, a son of the late Margaret Seese and Russell O. Lambert. He was married to the former Geraldine Kitty Jasmer who preceded him in death.

Richard served in the Army Air Corps in 1946.

He was employed as a postal worker for United States Post Office, retiring after 25 years of service

Richard had lived in Arizona and Idaho and had been involved with the Boys Rangers in both states.

He is survived by three sisters, Diane Haffling, of Herndon, Ada Mae Weidman, of Shamokin Dam, and Sherley Detrick, of Kunkletown; two sons, Richard R. Lambert Jr., of Milwaukie, Ore., and Kenneth Pete, of Caldwell, Ind.; one brother, Harold Lambert, of Springfield, Mo.; several grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Pete; one daughter, Rebecka Eva (Lambert) Rundell; and four brothers, James Lambert, Willard Detrick, Herbert Lambert, and Arlington Lambert.

A funeral ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. today at Manor Care, Sunbury, with the Rev. Keith Bunch, officiating.

Interment will take place in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens, Caldwell, Ind.
