NORTHUMBERLAND — Charles M. Meiser, 83, of Northumberland, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.
He was born in Ranshaw on April 15, 1929, a son of the late Arvin and Dorthea (Ditman) Meiser. He married the former Betty A. Kabonick on Sept. 2, 1950.
Charles formerly was employed in timbering and then as a welder for Dorsey Trailers, Northumberland, for 39 years.
He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Northumberland.
He was a life member of the National Rifle Association and the Point Township Fire Company.
He enjoyed coin collecting and camping, both in Pennsylvania and nearby states.
Charles was a loving husband, father and grandfather and always supported his family during good times and bad times. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to others.
His dog, Roxie, was his loyal friend and companion.
His family would like to thank for their support their neighbors, Ken and Robin Bower, Joanne Bolig, Robin and Ona Bolig and Steve and Georgia Wolfe.
In addition to his wife, Charles is survived by two daughters, Lynn A. Tennis, of Elizabethville, and Sharlee M. Lewis, of Trevorton; three grandchildren, Shaylee, Zachary and Christopher; three great-grandchildren, Riley, Gage and Xzavion; one brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Lois Meiser, of Elysburg; and two sisters, Louise Korkuch and Phyllis Shickora, both of Shamokin.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason.
A viewing will be held from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 309 Water St., Northumberland, followed by the funeral at 3.
Burial will take place privately at a later date.
