NORTHUMBERLAND — Marlin A. Bohner, 86, of Northumberland, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at Manor Care, Sunbury.
He was born Sept. 23, 1926, in Red Cross, a son of the late Elmer and Florence (Rebuck) Bohner. He was married for 63 years to the former Shirly M. Knarr who survives.
He was a graduate of Sunbury High School and served his country during World War II with the Navy Amphibious Forces in the Philippines.
Marlin was formerly employed by the Sunbury Textile Mills, Rea & Derick and was last employed at the CVS warehouse in Northumberland.
He was a member of Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, Sunbury, the Susquehanna Valley Men’s Prayer Covenant and a life member of the Northumberland-Point Township Sportsmen Association.
Marlin enjoyed doing yard work, fishing and especially duck hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Roger L. Bohner and his companion, Tina Jackson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by nine brothers, Lamar, Elmer, Thomas, Levi, Paul, Earl, Emory, Howard and Roland, and three sisters, Alma, Florence and Justine.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury, followed by the funeral at 11.
Burial will be in the Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Marlin’s memory may be made to Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, 967 Mile Hill Road, Sunbury.
