MILLERSTOWN — Elizabeth E. “Betty” Miller, 83, of Millerstown, died at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at the Stonebridge Health and Rehabilitation Center, Duncannon.
Born on Oct. 14, 1929, in Fayette Township, Juniata County, she was a daughter of the late North S. and Myrtle (Strawser) Shelley. On Nov. 8, 1950, she married Clarence J. “Jake” Miller, with whom she shared nearly 45 years of marriage before he preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1995.
Mrs. Miller retired as a seamstress and had worked at the McAlisterville Shirt Factory, Lyons Fashions, and L. Shellenberger and Sons.
Betty was a member of the McAlisterville United Methodist Church, and attended St. John Barner’s Lutheran Church, Liverpool, and she was a volunteer for the Juniata Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Deborah M. and Andy Davidson, of Millerstown; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Robert and Barbara Shelly, of Thompsontown, and Ray Shelley, of McAlisterville; one sister-in-law, Beatrice Wilson, of the Locust Grove Retirement Village, Mifflin; one granddaughter, Carla Wright and her husband Loren, of Millerstown; and she leaves behind one great-granddaughter, Cassie Wright.
One sister, Lois Sausser and two brothers, William Shelley and Nevin Shelley, preceded her in death.
Visitors may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Brown Funeral Homes Inc., 111 Westfall St., McAlisterville, followed by the funeral at 11 with the Rev. Edward D’Agostino and Pastor Peter Kuebler officiating.
Burial will follow in the Hillside Cemetery, McAlisterville.
