MIFFLINBURG — Robert L. Stover, 83, of Mifflinburg, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 25, 2013, at Riverwoods in Lewisburg.

Born on Feb. 25, 1930, in Aaronsburg, Robert was a son of the late Miles E. and Florence I. (Guisewite) Stover. He married Anna L. Bobb in June of 1952 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Millheim. Mrs. Stover survives at their home in Mifflinburg.  

Robert was employed by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 542, as a heavy equipment operator with 42 years of service.  He was a member of the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, where he was very involved in church activities. In his younger years, Robert enjoyed hunting.

He was a great handyman and enjoyed repairing things for family and friends. He and Anna traveled to Florida for the winter months and during the summer months they spent their time at the Hidden Valley Campground. Robert always said, “I’ve had a good life”.  

In addition to his wife, Robert is survived by two sons, Jesse N. Stover and Joel R. Stover (Susan), both of Mifflinburg. Also surviving is one brother, Gerald Stover, of Howard; and four grandchildren, Jason R. Stover, Christopher M. Stover, Aubrey L. Stover and Jared R. Stover, all of Mifflinburg.  

Robert was preceded in death by two sisters, Charlotte Auman and Evelyn Snyder.

In accordance with Robert’s wishes, all services will be private.  

He will be laid to rest in Woodward Cemetery.  

Contributions in memory of Robert may be given to the Mifflinburg Church of the Nazarene, 12 Market St., Mifflinburg, PA 17844.
