SELINSGROVE — Evelyn Mae Walter, 87, of Selinsgrove, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, at the Manor at Penn Village. She was greeted at Heaven’s door by the love of her life, Carson, whom she married on Jan. 10, 1948, and who preceded her in death on June 26, 1985.
She was born Feb. 16, 1925, in Verdilla, the daughter of the late Rufus and Carrie (Burkey) Wolfgang. She was raised in the Verdilla and Selinsgrove area by her cherished grandparents, the late Elmer and Bertha Burkey.
Evelyn was a lifelong member of Faith United Methodist Church, Selinsgrove, where she taught Sunday school.
She enjoyed tending her flowers, gardening and crocheting. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The past several years, she enjoyed the companionship of her Manor at Penn Village roommate, Aunt Christine Walter. Together they solved all of the world’s problems.
She is survived by her stepmother, Martha Wolfgang; four children and their spouses, Linda and Edgar Byers, of Millerstown, Carsanna and Dennis Buckley, of Liverpool, Roger and Kathy Walter, of Selinsgrove, and Nancy and Robert Zaborowski, of Selinsgrove; nine grandchildren, Bradley Miller and fiancee Angie Kratzer, Krista Pontius and husband Jason, Heather Hoot and husband Todd, Daryl Walter and wife Taylor, Jeremy Walter, Robyn Zaborowski and fiance Jordan Morales, Karen Herman and husband Jeff, Nicholas Zaborowski and Christopher Buckley; seven great-grandchildren, Owen and Alexis Hoot, Addison Walter, Jewllius Morales and Austin Herman, Quinn Hoot and Casara Beaver and husband Nathen; one brother and sister-in-law, George and Rachel Wolfgang, of Shamokin Dam; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Clarence and Gordon Wolfgang, and a son-in-law, Barry Miller.
Friends and family may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church, 20 Musser Lane, Selinsgrove, where the funeral will begin at 11 with Pastor Elizabeth B. Stutler officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Paul’s “Middlecreek Dam” Cemetery.

Arrangements are by the V.L. Seebold Funeral Home, 601 N. High St., Selinsgrove.
