Sheila R. Cooper, 78, Sunbury

SUNBURY — Sheila R. Cooper, 78, of Sunbury, passed away at her home on Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013.

Sheila was born April 7, 1934, in Liverpool, England, a daughter of the late Abraham and Emma (Maire) Kerr. She was married to John P. Cooper, who preceded her in death on June 17, 1974.

Sheila was a graduate of Stockton Road School in England.

After her children were raised, she was employed as an aide at the Selinsgrove Center.

Sheila loved being with family, reading books, doing puzzles and taking walks. She was a lover of animals, especially her dog, Prince.

She is survived by seven children and their spouses, Susan and Tim Ebersole, Larry and Laurie Cooper, William and Teresa Cooper, Robert and Erin Cooper and Robert and Erin Cooper, all of Sunbury, Pete and Diane Cooper, of Key West, Fla., and Doug and Brenda Cooper, of Freeburg; 15 grandchildren, Jim, Heather, Christina, Tonya, Amanda, Jenn, John, Mike, Tony, Tyler, Nathan, Caitlin, Jason, Justin and Brandon; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Emma and Ron Collings and Joan and Peter Joans, all of England; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Gayle Perks and her daughter, Shayna, of Sunbury.

She was preceded in death by one son, Paul Cooper, and two sisters, Paddi Simmonds and Alice Peter.

There will be no public viewing or visitation. The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Emmanuel Bible Fellowship Church, 967 Mile Hill Road, Sunbury, with the Rev. Charles Cole officiating.

Interment will follow in Pomfret Manor Cemetery, Sunbury.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Sheila’s memory may be made to Mostly Mutts, 284 Little Mountain Road, Sunbury, PA 17801.
